7 Dec 2022 - "Living Evidence during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Lessons Learnt from a Living Systematic Review”

Event Date:
2022-12-07

Dr Leonie Heron

Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine, University of Bern, Switzerland

Leonie Heron is a postdoctoral researcher working with Prof. Nicola Low at the University of Bern. She completed a PhD in epidemiology supervised by Prof Frank Kee, Prof Ciaran O’Neill and Prof Mark Tully at Queen’s University Belfast in 2020. Her research interests include evidence synthesis and infectious disease epidemiology.

The speed of evidence generated during the covid-19 pandemic highlighted the challenges of managing high volumes of research literature. We have been conducting a living systematic review on asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection since 2020. I describe how evidence evolved during the pandemic and our experience of keeping a living review alive.
