20 Oct 2022 - Launch Symposium The All-Island Congenital Heart Disease Network Programme

Event Date:
2022-10-20

Queen's University Belfast in partnership with Ulster University, recently secured funding from the Department of Health, Northern Ireland, to develop a unique collaborative programme of research in the field of congenital heart disease. This is an initiative of the All-Island Paediatric Cardiology Network, building upon the already established cross-jurisdictional clinical network for children with heart disease.

Within the proposal we recognised the importance of establishing an academic centre of excellence for paediatric cardiology. We believe the implementation of this cross-jurisdictional research programme will create a ‘virtual centre of excellence’. The aim is to create new partnerships which will drive research focused on health innovation and the implementation of evidence based, cost effective and high-quality cardiac care to children and young people across the island of Ireland.

Bringing together leading clinicians and researchers, who will share their views and suggestions on building a successful collaborative research network. Presentations will be followed by a panel discussion. We hope to see you at the Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine, QUB on Thursday 20 October.

A light lunch and refreshments will be provided, so please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
