1 Dec 2021 - NIPHRN Seminar - “Connecting disciplines through translational systems and networks: Behavioural science, health psychology and public health”

Event Date:
2021-12-01

Prof Angel Chater, University of Bedfordshire

Professor in Health Psychology and Behaviour Change, Director of the Institute for Sport and Physical Activity Research and Lead of the Centre for Health, Wellbeing and Behaviour Change. University of Bedfordshire.

A common question that is salient to the public health agenda is; ‘How can health promotion, disease prevention and treatment efforts be improved to enhance the health and wellbeing of the nation?’ Applying behavioural science, and more specifically health psychology, in public health settings to understand and change behaviour can maximise the scale of the impact of public health interventions and assist in the mission to improve population health and wellbeing.  The talk will give examples of the development of ways to connect disciplines and build the capability, opportunity and motivation for disciplines to work together to optimise outcomes.

Registration for the event is free and to read more see the flyer.
