Launch of Research Studies in Suicide Prevention and Alcohol Misuse

The Health and Social Care R&D Division, Public Health Agency, Northern Ireland (HSC R&D Division) launched three important research studies on 8th March 2016 in the areas of suicide prevention and resilience in children of parents who misuse alcohol.

The studies are part of the PHA’s Research and Development (R&D) Division’s commissioned programmes and were carried out by researchers in the Bamford Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing at Ulster University and at Queen’s University Belfast.

The studies were launched by the Chief Medical Office, Dr Michael McBride, at a conference attended by a wide range of delegates including academics and those who work in the community and voluntary sector.
