On Monday 13th February 2017, researchers at Queen’s University, in partnership with VOYPIC, launched a Guide to Peer Research with Young People, ‘More than we Expected’.
The guide was written in partnership with peer researchers, to share their experiences of the benefits and challenges of a peer research approach to a three year study of the transitions of care leavers with mental health and/or learning disabilities. The research was funded under R&D’s Bamford Programme and led by Dr Berni Kelly in the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work. The guide includes top tips for researchers thinking about using this inspiring method. Pictured presenting at the launch are Darren Smith and Seana Friel, two of the peer researchers involved in the study.
